Michael Isaac Gruber – Minister of Public Affairs, Urban Development and Transportation

Michael Gruber graduated with a Master’s of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles California, degree from Sud California Istituto d’Architettura, Vico Morcote, Switzerland and a Bachelor of Design Degree in Architecture from the University of Florida, College Of Architecture in Gainesville, Florida.

Prior to being appointed Minister of Public Affairs, Urban Development and Transportation, Michael Gruber’s extensive professional experience includes Partner, Senior Technical Director, and Project Architect to the wHY design team in Los Angeles and New York. Projects include; Marciano Art Foundation, Grueter Residence, and the Greene Residence.

A designer and licensed Architect, Michael Gruber began his career working for Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry, before joining Richard Meier and Partners and remaining there for over 20 years, where he was made Director of the Getty Project Models for the J. Paul Getty Art Center in Los Angeles. His extensive experience coordinating owners, architects, consultants and contractors on demanding projects has made Michael an invaluable resource in construction and project management.

Michael’s significant past projects include the Edie and Lew Wasserman Building on the UCLA Campus in Los Angeles California and the designing of The MEIS Museo Nazionale dell’Ebraismo Italiano e della Shoah (the National Italian Museum of Judaism and the Holocaust) in Ferrara, Italy and the DIEM-DIENCA Bologna University in Bologna, Italy. Michael has won numerous awards including the prestigious Rome Prize in 1995, and has a favorite classic 1969 Fiat 500 Cinquecento which he drives as often as possible.
